Dieses Lied ist meinem Großvater P. G. Thiede (1914-2008) gewidmet.
(geschrieben 15. 2. 2009, zu hören auf meinem ersten Album "Fragile Answers")
Empty boxes
Cupboards open wide
They are all here
Cars line up outside
Deconstruction
But the glue is hard
It is like a puzzle
That we piece apart
Books and pictures
And an old guitar
Oh, this journey
It takes us so far
Little things
That we used to know
Water the cacti
That he used to grow
Old coats keep warm
The attic is so cold
Everything out now
The flat is sold, so old
Through a life within a day
All the memories quickly went away
I want to look closer but we're moving so fast
Look into the future, but don't forget the past
Empty boxes
Cupboards open wide
Late in the evening
We turn off the light
Chandelier rocks
Our sorrow to sleep
He will live on
No one has to weep
(They're telling us)
Old coats keep warm
The attic is so cold
Everything out now
The flat is sold, so old
Through a life within a day
All the memories quickly went away
I want to look closer but we're moving so fast
The more you like the future, the less you like the past
I discovered
A dedication in a book
Small letters
So take a closer look
Try to read it
But I don't know how
(die folgenden letzten Zeilen ohne Gitarre und gesprochen!)
"He would surely tell you
If he could see you now."
